Organiser of attack on BNP paper sale uncovered

October 27th - Jonathan Wood - Maryport UAF activist
A Labour candidate at the local elections has been interviewed by police over a hate crime. Jonathan Wood, who stood for Allerdal Council in May, was promoted in the local newspaper and on TV as a rising star of the Labour Party because of his campaigning against the BNP in Cumbria.
But the media’s darling came unstuck when he encouraged visitors to his website ‘To give BNP members a smack’ The police say they are taking the matter very seriously because it comes under their ‘hate crime’ criteria!
Jonathan Wood: The media image and the reality Labour’s 18 year-old candidate for the Allerdale Council seat of Silloth in Cumbria is Jonathan Wood.
He is the son of Janice and Martin Wood, the two Labour councillors for Maryport Ellenborough on the same Council. For the last 12 months Jonathan has been the local media’s darling because of his campaign to stop the BNP fielding candidates in Maryport. Jonathan has appeared on television, on the radio and in every local newspaper receiving glowing, totally uncritical reports about his campaign to deny real democracy to voters in West Cumbria.
This coverage however proved too much for one of Jonathan¹s former classmates from his school who came forward to set the record straight.
He told the BNP website that far from being a serious politician, Jonathan Wood was “a bit of a looney” whose irresponsible behaviour was regularly discussed in the town¹s clubs and pubs.
His revelations make rather grim reading.

The record of this young 18 year-old who has also been described as a “lost soul” is not what this report is all about. The issues that are raised by the case of Jonathan Wood are much more serious.
Media ignorance
Both of West Cumbria¹s two main newspapers, the Times & Star and the News and Star were made aware of Wood¹s past behaviour but refused to report it. No doubt worried that having relentlessly promoted his anti-BNP activities, the credibility of this campaign would be undermined when his true nature emerged.
It also reveals the desperate state of the Labour Party, that it was prepared to put Wood up as a candidate knowing of all the baggage that he had in tow.
It also reveals a worrying lack of judgement on behalf of Wood’s parents, both Labour councillors, who have allowed their son to be put forward in both his anti-BNP activities and as a Labour councillor, despite his many brushes with the law and the risks that these would come into the public domain and hinder his chances in later life.
In Silloth, a Labour stronghold, a former Labour councillor was standing as an Independent. Her campaign was undermined when the Times & Star ran yet another article promoting Jonathan Wood¹s campaign in the town, just because he was the youngest candidate for Allerdale.
Instead, of course, this newspaper should have been alerting the voters of Silloth as to just what kind of individual their Labour candidate is.

What does murder of innocent people and advocating the right for everyone to live have in common? Figured it out? No? Neither have I, in fact the only people who seem able to solve this enigma are the largest 'Pro-Life' group in the UK, commonly called SPUC (Society for the Protection of Unborn Children). In the March edition of their monthly magazine they give an adulatory report for a 'Pro-life' candidate standing in the Northern Ireland Assembly elections - Mr. Gerry McGeough. They describe this hero of the Pro-life movement as being a 'former journalist'. Perhaps they forgot to mention the word Terrorist? In fact, SPUC's adulation of this 'man' would be laughable if it were not so serious as Mr. McGeough was arrested by the Police at the Polling station accused of the attempted murder of part-time soldier Sammy Brush! If one delves into the past history of Mr. McGeough it would not be difficult to observe that this man is the paradox of Pro-life.
He was/is a self-confessed member of the IRA's feared East Tyrone Brigade, for those of you who don't know, this 'Brigade' was one of the most prolific and murderous of all the IRA's army. They carried out two successful attacks on Police Stations in Tyrone by driving a JCB digger, with a 200lb bomb in its bucket, into the Station compound, detonating it and then strafing the building with machine gun fire to kill any Policemen who tried to escape the carnage. The SAS recovered eight IRA weapons from a similar attempt that went wrong for the terrorists and Police forensics were able to prove that the weapons had been used in seven other murders and twelve attempted murders. Indeed this 'Brigade' of the IRA is responsible for the murder of eight civilian builders with a landmine that destroyed their vehicle at a little place near Omagh, called Teebane.
McGeough was first arrested back in 1977 by SAS soldiers while on South Armagh IRA boss, Thomas 'slab' Murphy's farm (complete with underground torture chamber, where no doubt many victims met a grisly end). Yes, this is the same Thomas Murphy who is linked with the 1979 Warrenpoint ambush were 18 British soldiers were killed and who is implicated in the Mullaghmore bombing which killed 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma, his grandchild, 82 year old Dowager Duchess Doreen Brabourne and a fifteen year old boy - all on the SAME DAY! Certainly strange company for an ardent Pro-life lobbyer?
Well, you might say that poor Mr. McGeough is just a victim of bad company and poor judgment, that he had no part in this extremism himself? You would be wrong of course, in 1988 he was arrested while crossing the Dutch-German border with two AK-47 rifles in his car. He was charged with attacks on the British Army of the Rhine and held for four years in a specially built detention centre. His trial in Germany was interrupted by extradition to the United States where he was charged with attempting to buy surface to air missiles in 1983. He was imprisoned in various prisons in America until his release and deportation to the Republic of Ireland in 1996. Mr. McGeoughs odious views are well documented in his blog (gerrymcgeough.blogspot.com), his magazine (www.hibernianmedia.com) and in an anti-British Muslim site (umarlee.com)
With a history of violence, mayhem and murder like this, one wonders what exactly SPUC were thinking when they decided to endorse this anti-choice, anti-British, sectarian bigot as 'their' choice for the Pro-life candidate in the Northern Ireland Assembly elections. Was it an oversight, a blip in their excitement at finding a man who will 'fight any attempt to liberalise Northern Irelands abortion legislation'? Sadly no, this was a deliberate misrepresentation of Mr. McGeough by SPUC. They were well aware of Mr. McGeough's criminal, terrorist past and decided to ignore it (endorse it?). This blatant omission was designed to fool anyone who didn't know anything about Mr. McGeough into voting for him on his 'Pro-life' stance. By doing this SPUC have trampled underfoot the innocent victims of this evil man, the countless thousands affected by the troubles here in Northern Ireland, the UK and even Germany. We have contacted SPUC on countless occasions to get a response from them on this issue, they flatly refuse to apologise or distance themselves in any way. These are not the actions of a responsible, Pro-life group; they are reprehensible endorsements of terror, murder and pain in a time when terrorists are ravaging the world. Again we call on SPUC to publicly apologise for this glaring hypocrisy and 'disband' their offensive organization.
