REDWATCH STATEMENT: Some of the demonstrators pictured on these pages may be taking part in anti-war or anti-Zionist demonstrations. We feel we must state our position here: As White Nationalists we also stand opposed to the recent war crimes committed against the Lebanese people by the Zionist terrorists occupying Palestine, we are opposed to the occupation of Iraq and the U.S. government's bases in Europe, but these people pictured on these demonstrations are Marxists and would just as easily be taking part in a demonstration against the BNP. They see the crisis in the Middle East as being just another excuse to gain new recruits. Can you imagine anyone openly representing a White Nationalist organisation being welcomed on anti-Zionist or anti-war demonstrations such as the ones featured on Redwatch? Indeed, members of Nationalist parties have been physically ejected when attending such demonstrations recently, and these reds are the people that claim we're 'anti-democratic'!

NEWS REPORT:
IRSP Anti-Racism Meeting (and the elusive Davy Carlin)
The IRSP held a meeting on racism in West Belfast last Tuesday where over 30 people heard a discussion on racism in Ireland. Unfortunately the invited speaker, Davy Carlin from the Anti Racist network cried off sick (we were delighted to see that Davy had recovered sufficiently to attend the ARN meeting on Wednesday).
In Davy¹s absence a member of the IRSP Ard-Comhairle led the discussion. He pointed out the links between sectarianism and racism and traced anti-Irish racism back to the 12th century. He drew out the racism behind the attitude of the British ruling class during the Great Famine and explained how one of the driving forces behind the Ulster Unionist case against Home rule was racism and how some unionists regarded the ³ Irish² as inferior beings to the white Anglo-Saxons.
The notion that republicans and nationalists could be smug about racist attacks in Loyalist areas was strongly knocked on the head. All of us could be liable to racist attitudes and republican socialists needed to start challenging sexism, anti-gay prejudice and racism in their daily lives. We had to live our personal lives by practising our beliefs and challenging prejudice wherever we find it. But we also needed to engage in mass political action against racism and so we should be standing shoulder to shoulder with all those under attack from the low life reactionary storm troopers

Anti-Racism Group Branching Out
THE Anti-Racism Network (ARN) is to set up four branches across Belfast as the fight to halt racist attacks in the city gains momentum.
ARN chairman David Carlin said members had agreed at their last meeting to establish branches in north, south, east and west Belfast.
"We felt there was a need to branch out because if there are racist attacks happening within communities, then they should be dealt with by that local community - by a neighbour, rather than an outsider coming in," said Mr Carlin.
Last night saw the setting up of the west Belfast group at Culturlann on the Falls Road.
The south Belfast branch will be launched on Friday night at Ballynafeigh Community Centre, with the north and east Belfast groups being established within the next week, said Mr Carlin.
"We are hoping to localise these groups even further, perhaps into areas, so that it will be easier to organise a robust approach to racism within communities," he said.
He said the ARN would also be establishing a branch within the Queen's University student movement.
Mr Carlin said that, due to pressure from antiracism organisations, and following the success of an anti-racism rally in Belfast, the British National Party had disbanded in Belfast.

He was one of the founding members of the Northern Ireland Council for Ethnic Minorities, which was set up in 1994.
